Just bought this car seat for 9 month old baby boy. Deep blue colour seems more purple but not too worried as hope to use for any future babies that may come along!! Not sure if anyone else has experienced shoulder straps digging into babies neck but my little one was very red after only 25 minute journey! not sure what to do about straps!

We bought three of these, one for my car, one for my wife's and one for the grand parents...fantastic idea, however all three have experienced problems locking into position. We were stranded one weekend as we could not get the seat to lock in forward seating position.....maxi cosi claim we were the first to report this however I find it hard to believe, considering all three have shown signs of catch failure. All have been sent back to maxi cosi for investigation and adjustment. 100%great idea, but very concerning and stressful when stranded!

I love this car seat!!!! My mum has a non-rotating one and i find it so hard to get my little one into her car.
The rotating seat is just brilliant! I have a damaged disk in my back and was dreading toddler tantrums while trying to twist round at an awkward angle to stap him in.
The only -ve i have is that as mentioned in another couple of reviews the left hand stap is longer than the right....no matter how much i try i cannot get them the same. I have checked and they arent twisted. I pull the straps out as far as they will go and then do them up and tighten them. I have watched the back of the seat as someone else strapped my little one in and you can see that one strap is definitely longer. I dont know if there is a way that the straps can be changed? But i am starting to get concerned as i know there is no reason for one strap to have stretched and it seems to be several inches longer than the other.

We've found this car seat really good as well - so convenient compared to the forward facing seats.

However we are having the same problems as Lynne above - we keep losing tension, and the tightening ratchet keeps jumping when I try to tighten it up to avoid this happening.
The tightening ratchet now spins round and round and no longer clicks into place either, which might have something to do with the jumping problem.
The result is that we're beginning to doubt it's safety if we had a crash as it might jump loose at the critical moment.
Is our seat broken, or is this a problem withthe design?

Really love this car seat but have experienced some of the problems as previously mentioned by others.
Firstly, the restraining straps don't tighten equally even though they are both completely pulled out equal. The right one tightens more than the left leaving this one loose. I have to faff with them to make them the same. This is not a twisted strap as admin have suggested as I have checked. Also we have two of these car seats as my mum & dad have one for their car. They were bought separately from different retailers but yet with both of them it is almost impossible to fully tighten the restraining straps tight enough. You have to pull the straps so hard the base actually moves on the seat of the car and it hurts your hand. Surely this can't be right.
On a final note despite fitting the seat exactly as the instructions suggest and going to my local authority car seat safety team for a fitting demonstration, every so often I find the seatbelt has lost its tension. As I never know when this is going to happen I have to check the tension every time I use the seat. If the seat is correctly fitted, how can it be that the seatbelt loses its tension. I can only assume this is happening because of the movement of the seat when struggling to tighten the straps.
Any suggestions from admin would be very appreciated to work around these problems.
Despite the problems I love the swivel action of the seat. It makes it so much easier to get my little one in and out of the car & saves the struggle of lifting and twisting into a conventional seat.

Life saver!

Head on collision back in 2008, 1 week before my daughters first birthday!
Daughter and I out for a nice quiet drive in the country. Came around a blind corner to find a car coming towards us on our side of the road, he was overtaking a tractor. My daughter was asleep at the time of the collision, and only suffered minor bruises to her nose and collarbone. Police needed to cut the seatbelt to get the carseat out. Our Volks Wagon Golf estate was written off.
No obvious damage to the seat. But we replaced it with a new one, which she still uses today, thanks to the makers of Maxi-Cosi Axiss!

(Thank you Maxi-cosi Axiss makers x)

This seat makes life easier especially when my little girl decides she doesn't want to sit in it, at least the seat is facing you and you can struggle with her to get her in more easily, lol.

Only problem I've noticed is that the seat belt has randomly popped out every now and again, it's happened in both our cars so can't be the car's fault? Maybe I've done it too tight? I have to check the seatbelt is clicked everytime I've strapped her in to be safe. Anyone else experienced this?

Great seat, unfortunately does not fit into a vauxhall zafira either, despite their website saying it does. 2 independant retailers, trained fitters have said it would cause buckle crunch, & can be lethal in a crash situation, god forbid!.
Contacted Maxi cosi who won't commit to anything & say their website may say it fits but they have a disclaimer on it, as each individual cars seat belt is a different size!! So may fit your friends identical car but not yours!
So i now have 2 maxi cosi axiss seats which won't fit, what a shame.
